Put OBDII plug to the side it will not be used. (Note: One is purple, and one is purple/black stripe)ĭisconnect purple and purple/black stripe wires from splice point under dash. If you are receiving voltage when you open the door and it goes away when you close the door you may be experiencing an issue in the harness or with your LED lights.įollow black pigtail off side of plug till it splits in to 2 purple wires. If you are seeing that voltage is staying constant no matter if you open or close any door you may be experiencing an issue with the controller. Using your multimeter, meter out the pins directly in the controller and run the same test as previous. Unplug small 8 pin plug from the controller. If you are not seeing the voltage effected by the operation of the door proceed to the next step. When you open any door your meter should display 12v + or battery voltage and when the door is closed the voltage should go away. Insert your black lead into the back of the controller at the black wire. Using a DMM (digital multimeter) insert the red lead of your meter into the back of the controller at the red wire. (pic attached labeled override pinning can be used) Locate the small 8 pin plug located at your controller. Leave firm pressure with your foot on the step while you close the door. The running boards can me manually set in the deployed position by opening the door, and then place your foot on the step. Manually set the running boards to deploy: adverse conditions, debris such as mud, dirt, and salt may become trapped in the running board mechanism, possibly leading to unwanted noise, or binding. If you still can't find the perinent information on your own, usually there will be combination of e-mail, telephone and live chat options where you can hopefully get a direct answer.Ĥ. If you're looking at buying a new truck, most manufacturer's websites will offer at least some figures. Check the manufacturer's website for the make and model of your truck. Having your VIN number handy will help this process along.ģ. They will usually have that information readily available, or will be able to find it quickly. If your owner's manual doesn't provide the information you need, or if what is in there proves to be confusing, contact your local truck dealer. What you may find is that some manufacturers will provide extensive information on important ratings, while other provide a bare minimum.Ģ. Most owner's manuals will have something regarding a tow rating, even for passenger cars. Luckily, there are several places to learn about your truck's tow rating.ġ.
